Clean Peak targets 'great opportunity' in commercial solar industry
By Angela Macdonald-Smith, AFR, 8th January 2018
After the best part of two decades cooking up M&A deals in energy, Philip Graham and Jonathan Hare are putting skin in the game where they see the most compelling opportunity: commercial solar.
Clean Peak Energy, the start-up founded last year by Mr Graham, Citigroup's former head of energy and power for Asia, and Mr Hare, the former head of corporate transactions and strategy at Origin Energy, has opened its doors and is competing for contracts.
It has completed its first three small projects, at commercial sites in Sydney, and has bid on about $50 million of new contracts that are still in the works, each involving about 1 megawatt of solar generation capacity.
